The Everest View Short Trek is an eight-day guided trekking tour in Nepal's Everest region. The trip reaches a maximum elevation of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) and involves moderate to strenuous trekking. Trekkers will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will stay in comfortable hotels or guesthouses along the way. The trip includes a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and back. The best months to embark on this trip are in the spring (Feb-May) and autumn (Sep-Dec), when the weather conditions are ideal for traveling in the area. This trip can have a maximum of ten people and a minimum of two. On the second day of your itinerary to explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Kathmandu Valley a city renowned for its World Heritage Sites and rich Nepali culture. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at your luxury hotel or guesthouse before commencing a guided city tour.

The first key landmark you will visit is the sacred Pashupatinath Temple the holiest Hindu temple situated on the banks of the Bagmati River. Next, you will marvel at the impressive Boudhanath Stupa the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. The tour will then take you to Patan Durbar Square known for its ancient buildings and cultural significance. Following this, you will be escorted to the Swayambhunath Stupa a renowned stupa dating back 2000 years that sits atop a hill and is also known as the Monkey Temple.

The adventure of 3rd day begins with a flight early in the morning from Kathmandu to Lukla a 30- to 40-minute trip with stunning views of the Himalayas. The flight is an exhilarating experience as the aircraft steps among towering mountains before landing at Lukla Airport the entry point to the Everest Region.

One of the world's most dangerous airports Lukla Airport is known for its challenging single runway positioned on a cliff. You will have time to rest when you get to Lukla meet your local porters and prepare your luggage for the trek that lies ahead. Your trek officially begins when you show your Trekking Permit at the Lukla checkpoint and head toward Phakding a Sherpa village with an ancient monastery.

Before heading through the Dudh Koshi valley the trail descends to Thalsaroa and Cheplung offering views of Mt. In the distance Khumbila (5,761 meters/18,901 feet). You will continue along the trail through Ghat which is 2,520 meters, or 8,350 feet before reaching Phakdingyour day's destination. In Phakding you can relax in the luxury of a hotel or guesthouse eat clean food and be pampered by friendly locals who offer excellent service and warm hospitality.

Today's hike will take you from Phakding to Namche Bazaar the most important tourism destination in the Everest region. The trail winds along the Dudh Koshi River passing through dense fir, alpine and rhododendron forests to reach Benkar. Along the way you will also go through Chhumuwa and Monjo crossing suspension bridges in the lush forest. Before entering Sagarmatha National Park it is necessary to register your trekking permit at the checkpoint in Monjo.

The park offers a beautiful setting with a variety of vegetation and the opportunity to spot wildlife. Look out for unique plants and animals during this part of the hike. Ascending through pine and fir forests will lead you to a ridge after crossing the Dudh Koshi River on the famous Tenzing-Hillary suspension bridge where you will catch your first glimpse of Mt. Everest in the distance.

Take a moment to enjoy this breathtaking view before continuing uphill towards Namche Bazaar. After a few hours of uphill trekking you will reach Namche Bazaar where you can spend the remainder of your day.
Namche Bazaar offers standard lodging options and modern amenities such as ATMs, internet access, cyber cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Before beginning the Everest View Short Trek take some time to relax and explore this lively mountain town.

On this day, you will take a side trip from Namche to Thame which promises to be a fun and scenic journey. After an early breakfast in Namche, you will head north climbing the ridge and enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The trail will lead you through dense alpine and rhododendron forests passing by villages such as Phurte and Theso which were once part of the historic salt trading route with Tibet.

As you trek towards Thamo village, you will encounter two magnificent gompas (monasteries) Khari and Lawudo known for their exquisite mural paintings and architectural beauty adding to the spiritual and peaceful atmosphere created by the Mani boulders, prayer flags, Mani wheels, Chortens and Stupas along the way.

Continuing upwards to Somade, you will be treated to spectacular views of Pharchamo and Knog De Ri (6,273m and 6,187m respectively). To reach Thame, you will descend towards the Bhote Koshi River and cross a small bridge over a stone cliff. In Thame, you can explore the oldest Gompa in the Everest Region and enjoy stunning views of the shining Sunder Peak (5,300 meters). After exploring Thame, you will either retrace your steps or take a different route back to Namche.

Upon your return to Namche, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the town's rich history, stunning views, and warm Sherpa hospitality. Before continuing on the Everest View Short Trek, consider spending an extra night in Namche Bazaar to fully immerse yourself in the unique charm of the Everest region.

After a satisfying breakfast, you will embark on a short hike from Namche to the Everest View Hotel to explore the Sherpa villages of Khumjung valley. As you make your way to the Everest View Hotel you will catch a glimpse of the majestic Mt. Everest and its neighboring peaks, creating a breathtaking sight. Upon reaching the Everest View Hotel you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while taking in views of Mt. Everest (8,848 meters), Khumbila (5,761 meters), Thamserku (6,623 meters), Lhotse (8,516 meters) and Ama Dablam. This experience will leave you with lasting memories of the beauty of the Himalayas surrounding you.

For those who are physically fit and seeking adventure further exploration of the Khumjung and Kunde villages, which offer insights into Sherpa culture and hospitality is an option. In Khumjung village, visit the Khumjung Gompa and the Khumjung Hillary Schoolboth established in 1961 by Sir Edmund Hillary. Descend to Kunde, home to the Hillary Hospital the largest hospital in the Khumjung region, established in 1966. On your way back to Namche from Kunde, you will pass Syangboche Airport a non-commercial airfield mainly used by helicopters for emergency medical evacuations. Take in the stunning aerial views of the village from the runway before returning to Namche.

Once back in Namche immerse yourself in Sherpa culture and traditions explore the area, admire Tibetan artifacts, taste homemade Yak cheese and butter and experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa community.

You will bid farewell to Namche and begin your journey back to Lukla on your final day of trekking. The trail will lead you downhill towards the Dudh Koshi River, offering nostalgic views of the landscapes you passed through. You will reminisce about trekking through alpine and rhododendron forests navigating rocky terrain, crossing suspension bridges, and retracing your steps through Monjo and Cheplung via the scenic pathways of Sagarmatha National Park. Your trek will end upon reaching Lukla after a slight ascent from Cheplung, which takes just over 30 minutes.
