Embark on a captivating tour of Kathmandu Valley, a city steeped in history and culture with numerous World Heritage Sites. After a warm breakfast, your day begins with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine on the banks of the Bagmati River, known for its spiritual significance and vibrant rituals. Next, explore the grand Boudhanath Stupa, the largest of its kind, radiating peaceful Buddhist vibes and surrounded by prayer flags and monks. We then drive to Patan Durbar Square, famed for its ancient royal palace and exquisite Newari architecture. Continue to Swayambhunath Stupa, or the "Monkey Temple," perched on a hilltop offering panoramic views and spiritual ambiance, and believed to be over 2000 years old. Conclude your tour at Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you can marvel at the historical Kumari Temple (home to the living goddess), Nautale Durbar, and the iconic Kaal Bhairav and Swet Bhairav statues. Your exhilarating journey to Everest Base Camp officially begins today with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Landing at Lukla, known for its challenging single-runway airport perched on a cliff, you will experience a mix of awe and adrenaline. Upon arrival, take some time to rest, meet your local porters, and prepare your gear for the trek. After arranging your trekking permits at the Lukla checkpoint, set off towards Phakding, a charming Sherpa village famous for its 500-year-old monastery. The trek descends through the lively villages of Thalsaroa and Cheplung, following the Dudh Koshi River's valley. Along the way, you’ll catch your first views of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred peak in the region. After several hours of hiking through picturesque landscapes, you arrive at Ghat, a quaint village nestled in the valley. A short walk from Ghat leads you to Phakding, where you will spend the night. 4th day trek takes you from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the largest and most vibrant hub in the Everest region. The journey begins with a scenic hike through dense fir, alpine, and rhododendron forests along the Dudh Koshi River, leading you to the village of Benkar. Continuing through lush forests and crossing several suspension bridges, you’ll reach Chhumuwa and then Monjo, where you must register your trekking permit at the Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint. Entering the park, immerse yourself in its enchanting environment, where the possibility of spotting wild animals and diverse vegetation adds to the adventure. As you proceed, you'll cross the iconic Tenzing-Hillary suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and ascend through pine and fir forests to a ridge. Here, you’ll catch your first awe-inspiring glimpse of Mt. Everest in the distance, a moment to cherish. The trail then continues uphill, demanding a steady pace as you climb for a couple of hours toward Namche Bazaar. Upon arrival, you’ll find yourself in a bustling mountain town with modern amenities like ATMs, internet cafes, pubs, and restaurants, offering a comfortable and lively place to rest after your day's trek. On the 6th day of your trek, you embark on a challenging ascent from Namche Bazaar, starting with a hike up the slopes that offer outstanding views of Everest and the village of Khumjung. Continuing along the Dudh Koshi Valley, you veer northwest from the main Everest trail, ascending the lower slopes of Khumbila. The trail then steepens as you climb to Mong La, a small village adorned with an ancient chorten (Buddhist shrine), where you can pause to take in panoramic mountain vistas. Descending from Mong La, the path leads to Phortse Thenga before ascending through dense pine and rhododendron forests. As you ascend higher towards Dole, at 4,200 meters (13,780 feet), the landscape changes, offering spectacular views of snow-capped peaks and serene alpine surroundings. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as spotted deer, Himalayan Tahrs, and various bird species, including the colorful Danphe, Nepal's national bird, adding to the natural allure of the trek. Today’s trek offers a leisurely yet scenic journey along the high trail from Dole to Machhermo. As you ascend, the trail winds through picturesque peaks above the river, surrounded by thorny alpine scrub vegetation. Along the way, you'll be treated to magnificent vistas of towering peaks like Cho Oyo, Thamserku, and Kangtega, contrasting with serene views into the valley below. Passing through summer-grazing settlements such as Luza, you'll gradually make your way up to Machhermo. Machhermo, situated at 4,470 meters (14,665 feet), is the final settlement before reaching Gokyo. Here, the Machhermo Khola river flows through villages like Kyajo Ri and Pharilapche before joining the Dudh Koshi River. Machhermo is also home to an HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association) assistance station, providing support for trekkers experiencing symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Leaving Machhermo, today's trek gently ascends towards a ridge that offers your first breathtaking views of the north face of Cho-Oyo (8,210m/26,907ft), along with stunning vistas of Kangtega and Thamserku. As you progress into the valley, you approach the snout of the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas, before the trail dips back to the river. Near the hamlet of Pangka, the path merges with an alternate route from the south and then climbs onto the side of the moraine. Crossing a metal bridge, you arrive at Longponga Tsho (4,690m/15,383ft), the first of the six sacred lakes of the Dudh Koshi Valley. Continuing, the trail skirts the glacier and the approach to Cho La, passing the serene Taboche Tsho. After a challenging half-hour hike beyond this lake, you reach the summer settlement of Gokyo. Nestled on the slope of the moraine, Gokyo overlooks the turquoise-blue waters of Dudh Pokhari, encircled by high hills at the foot of Gokyo Ri. This charming village provides spectacular views of the surrounding ridges, the towering Cho-Oyo, and the majestic ice ridge leading to Ghyachung Kang. Enjoy the peaceful setting and prepare to explore the wonders of Gokyo the following day.

The primary highlight is the ascent to Gokyo Ri (5,360m/17,586ft), starting from the northern side of the turquoise Gokyo Lake. A two-hour climb to the summit rewards you with panoramic views over Nepal's longest glacier, the Ngozumpa Glacier, framed by a spectacular wall of peaks to the southeast. From this flag-draped summit, marvel at the majestic Himalayan range, including Cho-Oyu, Ghyachung Kang, the north face of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche, Thamserku, Kangtega, and Kusum Kangru all towering over 6,300 meters (20,670 feet).

In the afternoon, explore the second major attraction: the fourth, fifth, and sixth Gokyo Lakes. Located on the northern side of Gokyo Lake, directly opposite the village, the ascent to Gokyo Ri's summit (5,360m/17,586ft) takes about two hours. From the flag-draped peak, you are greeted with sweeping views over the Ngozumpa Glacier, Nepal's longest glacier, nestled beneath a dramatic wall of towering peaks. This panoramic vantage point offers an unparalleled sight of the Himalayan chain, including notable giants such as Cho-Oyu, Ghyachung Kang, Everest’s north face, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche, Thamserku, Kangtega, and Kusum Kangru, all standing over 6,300 meters (20,670 feet). After soaking in the stunning scenery, you descend back to Gokyo and take a peaceful stroll around the azure Gokyo Lake, reflecting on the day’s breathtaking views. In the afternoon, the trek continues as you head down towards Phortse, an 18-kilometer journey that takes 7-8 hours. This part of the trek offers diverse landscapes and opportunities to encounter local wildlife and Sherpa culture. Upon reaching Phortse, you settle into your luxury accommodation, enjoying a well-deserved rest and a chance to absorb the tranquility of this charming village nestled in the heart of the Everest region.

Trek from Phortse to Monjo takes you through diverse terrains and charming Sherpa villages, covering a distance of 17 kilometers in 5-6 hours. The journey begins with a descent along a well-trodden trail that leads to Phortse Thenga, where you cross a bridge and reconnect with the main trail coming from Khumjung. As you continue, you retrace your steps back to Namche Bazaaroffering a chance to revisit this vibrant Sherpa hub and perhaps indulge in some last-minute shopping or a break at a cozy café. Leaving Namche behind, the path descends sharply towards the Dudh Koshi River, navigating through a forested route lined with pine and rhododendron trees. The trail offers a mix of scenic views and serene nature as you pass by small settlements and cascading waterfalls. Your destination, Monjo, is a peaceful village located just outside the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Here, you’ll spend the night in a luxury guesthouse, enjoying the comfort and hospitality, and reflecting on the varied experiences of the day.

On the 12th day of your trek, you embark on the final leg of your journey, retracing your steps from Monjo to Lukla over a distance of 14 kilometers, which takes about 5-6 hours. The trail descends along the Dudh Koshi River, weaving through the lush, green valley and passing through the familiar village of Phakding. As you trek, you’ll cross the iconic suspension bridges and enjoy the last glimpses of Sherpa culture and their settlements scattered along the route. After crossing a suspension bridge over the Thado Koshi River the trail ascends steadily for about 45 minutes, bringing you back to Lukla.

In Lukla, there’s a sense of accomplishment and relief as you reflect on the incredible journey through the Everest region. After arriving, you can take the opportunity to reconfirm your flight ticket back to Kathmandu and prepare for departure. The evening is a time for celebration and gratitude. You can participate in a farewell ceremony, expressing thanks to your hard-working and ever-smiling local porters who have supported you throughout the trek. It’s a moment to celebrate the completion of the Everest Panorama Trek with newfound friends and fellow trekkers. As the day comes to an end, enjoy a well-deserved rest in the comfort of a luxury guesthouse, savoring the memories of your remarkable adventure.
