Itinerary

When you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will greet you and transport you to our luxury hotel/guesthouse and assist you to check-in. So, look for someone holding a placard with your name or our company’s name – Lonely Nepal – waiting for you.

On this day, you simply relax at Hotel/Guesthouse overnight and restore your energy to accomplish your upcoming adventurous expedition.

Our company organizes a short introductory meeting in the evening. You will meet your trekking guide, and our trekking expert will provide you with all the detailed information about the expedition.

On this day, you are going to enjoy the Kathmandu Valley Tour – the city full of World Heritage Sites, Nepali culture and many more to explore.

At dawn, we offer you a warm breakfast and your sightseeing starts with our city guide. At first, you visit Pashupatinath Temple – the holiest Hindu Temple on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, then move to Boudhanath Stupa – the biggest Buddhist Stupa architecture in the world. After that, we drive you to Patan Durbar Square. In addition, we take you to Swayambhunath Stupa – the 2000 years old legendary stupa on the hilltop also nick-named as monkey temple. In the end, we come to Kathmandu Durbar Square, observe Kumari Temple (living goddess temple), Nautale Durbar, the Kaal Bhairav, the Swet Bhairav, the freak streets and more.

Your city tour ends in the evening. You take a delicate dinner and take a rest restoring energy for the upcoming adventure.

Our expedition starts today. At first, we take an early morning 30-40 minutes flight of Kathmandu-Lukla. As the place plane passes between towering mountains, the flight offers you the thrilling experience of the turbulence and serene picturesque of the Himalayan range. Finally, you land at Lukla airport – the gateway to the Everest Region. How would you feel landing on the airport with just a single runway on a cliff?

In the afternoon, we visit Chauri Kharka village, observe the traditional Sherpa lifestyle and enjoy the modern services.  At Lukla, you get to rest, meet your local porters and arrange the bag-packs.

Today, we trek from Lukla to Chutanga. After early breakfast, we follow the trail towards Kalo Khola Ridge passing a small village, pastures and dense forest. Finally, we climb up to Chutanga. Overnight, we stay here at Chutanga.

On this day, having early breakfast, we head towards Hinku valley via Zatrawa La Pass (4,610m/ 15,125 ft.) – the border of Sagarmatha and Makalu Barun National Parks. You enjoy the pristine view of Hinku valley under green hills; turquoise scenery and dazzling peaks such as Kongde Ri, Numbur Himal and Lumding Himal.

Next, we follow the straight trail for a few hours and then go down to Thuli Kharka. Overnight, we stay here at Thuli Kharka.

On this day, we have a slightly longer trek from Thuli Kharka to Kothe. Following the big boulder and rustic trails, we step on the Tashi Dingma viewpoint – you can witness the spectacular view of Mera Peak and other snow-covered summits.

After that, we descend steeply to Tashing Ongma. After crossing a suspension bridge over the Hinku River, we climb uphill and reach Kothe. Overnight, we stay here at Kothe.

From Kothe, we go uphill along the Hinku River to the summer herders’ village of Gondishung. As we walk on, we come upon Lungsumba Gompa – the 200 years old monastery. The Mera Peak path is inscribed on a Mani boulder along the way. After a short and lovely trek, we go up to Thangnak, the Summer Village.

Overnight, we stay here at Thangnak village.

Today, we take a warm breakfast at Thangnak and follow the trail alongside Sabai Tsho. Next, we go down to Khare passing through sub-tropical dense alpine, fir, and rhododendron forest.

While trekking to Khare, we enjoy the spectacular view of Nuptse Glacier and Nuptse Shar Glacier. Descending through a sandy path and a short steep ascent takes us to Khare. Witness the sparkling northern face of Mera Peak from Khare.

Overnight, we stay here at Khare.

This day, we take complete rest and acclimatize to a higher altitude. Your guides coach you about the safety measures and how to use gears like ice axes, crampons, boots, ropes, harnesses and ascenders. We also check their condition.

On this, the expedition is technically strenuous and challenging. From Khare, we climb Mera Glacier, cross Mera La Pass and land at Mera Peak Base Camp.

We set up tents at the Base Camp. Enjoy fully – astonishing views of shining peaks, pure glaciers and amazing landscapes.

Overnight, we stay at the Base Camp and restore energy to climb High Camp the next day.

This day, you find your expedition more challenging and risky. We trek through steep rocky trails and reach High Camp.

From High Camp, you witness the Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Baruntse, Kanchenjunga and Kusum Kanguru shining closely.

At High Camp, we set up a tent and stay overnight.

This is the most awaited moment throughout our expedition. After early breakfast, our expedition to Mera Peak starts. The Mera Peak Summit offers you the pristine scenes of the world’s 5 top peaks out of 6 peaks – Mt. Everest, Cho-Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse and Kanchenjunga.

Climbing the snow steep ridge makes the expedition riskier, so you should follow the guide’s instructions, guidelines and use gears cautiously. We need ropes, an axes, ladders and crampons to go to the summit.

After enjoying fully, we drop back to High Camp, and then to Khare. Overnight, we stay at Khare.

From Khare, we continue retracing back. We follow the trails down to Thangnak, then to Kothe passing through dense forests.

When we reach Kothe after a 5-6 hours trek, we rest and stay overnight at Kothe.

Today, we trek down from Kothe to Thuli Kharka. Having early breakfast, we drop to Tashing Ongma and cross a suspension bridge over Hinku Khola. Again, we descend and go up to Thuli Kharka.

Overnight, we stay here at Thuli Kharka.

We depart Hinku Valley and retrace our steps back to Lukla via Thuli Kharka. As we ascend from Thuli Kharka, we pass via Zatrwa La Pass on our way to Khumbu Valley. We may observe a beautiful environment and enticing views of Cho-Oyu, Kongde Ri, Numbur Himal, Lumding Himal, and other peaks from the pass. After crossing the Pass, we climb steeply to Chutanga and then trek straight to Lukla via small settlement, grazing plains, and lush rhododendron woodland beneath the Kalo Khola Ridge.

When we reach Lukla, we rest and celebrate Mera Peak Expedition victory.

On this second last day of your trek, we fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Restore your memories in the plane flying between giant mountains.  After landing at TIA, you will be transferred to your hotel.

On this day, after the completion of adventurous Mera Peak Climbing and mountain flights, you just relax and visit Kathmandu of your personal interests.

Also, you can observe hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city, markets and restaurants. Thamel, the center of tourists, caters you to luxurious hotels, rows of restaurants and bars, book shops, inviting souvenir shops, cyber cafes and travel agencies.

You can meet many international tourists from different regions of the world. Likewise, you can visit Asan – the busiest market with rows of shops that sell local and imported spices to kitchenware, grocery, fresh vegetables, Chinese goods, hardware, clothes, handicrafts and many more. Garden of Dreams, Pharphing, Kirtipur and Chandragiri Hills are also important places to visit in Kathmandu.
